Happy Monday and I pray you will all have a wonderful and productive week.
How was your weekend by the way?Mine was fun, productive, stressful and very short.
I know you are all wondering what is it with the fitness post and how can something be fun yet exhausting?
This is one of those post most of you have been asking me to share and also my lovely bloggerfriends (You know who you are and I love you all so much) have been encouraging me to share.
This year I am sure most of your goals/resolutions contain either losing weight or getting more active in general, so I thought it was about time I succumb my courage and share some things that I hope will help.If you are a long time reader, you will know by now that apart from everything else I am also a track and field athlete and if you didn't now you know.
Getting back to the aim of this post, people tend to always search for every possible way to stay fit and healthy (I am not using the word thin or lose wait because I believe everybody come in different sizes and what matter is if you are healthy in your own size). They pay a whole lot of many for every new device that promise that or even go to the length of taking all their courage and subscribe to a gym at the beginning of every year that they won't attend ever for more than two weeks.
If you fall into this group of people, its OK we practically all do or if you are just the adventurous type looking to get a new hobby this year.
I recommend RUNNING, it cost you less than nothing, all you need is your determination and some others you will see in the following pictures of myself as the runner in me is in action.
1.When you decide you want to start, remember it is very very essential to stretch your muscles to get them warm up before kicking off.

2.Starting is not easy, something will always come up but remember your body is a Temple and since you decide it time to keep it healthy, you must do it mostly for you and for the man in the mirror (you again). So it doesn't matter how slow or fast as long as you start that is all that matter, follow your own pace/watch. No rush dears.

3.Think of all the good reasons you were starting this in the first place and if you are a visual person, you might want to picture the body you want to look back at you when you face the mirror.
Some encouraging quotes to help :
4. Make it FUN in every way you can, when you don't take Running too seriously, that is when you will actually enjoy yourself and do the work without any stress.
5.Concentrate and Focus, pretty much self explanatory right?
6.The right Coach or even Friend to run with, me and my friends always say to each other running is a mental sport and yes it really is, if you find they right set of people to run with or even encourage you, you will never want to stop. I am so grateful for my coach, family and all those wonderful friends.
7.HAVE FUN!!!!!!
What you will need:
Running Shoes,a small Ipod or mp3 player (music is really a blessing),a stop watch (optional),Running clothing, your smile, and really only bring your cheerful self and make sure you doctor agrees and say you are good to hit any road, track or mountains.
Running is not a sport that require a standard age, so as long as your heart is beating and you feet can take you, you are good to go.
My grandfather was a runner even at his old age and he died when he was 103.
my dad is 54 and I still see him run.
So you are not too old or too young either (I run since I was 9), now what is your excuse?
Thank you all for reading and I really hope all these will be helpful and make you start running.
If you need any more tip or anything you can email me to ask.
If you like this kind of post let me know and I will try to keep them coming.
There is a lot where this comes from.
XOXO
Love you all

Such a great post, you make a number of salient points - which I have used before when training. I'm trying to start running again outside after spending close to two years indoors on a treadmill and have been finding it tough, but I know I'll be able to get to where I was if I stick it out! Happy new year x
ReplyDeletethats me! really wanna get back into shape but im just lazy to exercize, this should be my motivation.
